Susan Stansell, age 65 years, died Sept. 2 at the home of Henry Steele near Wharton. Interment was made in the Upper Camp Ground cemetery, Rev. C.H. Steele and Rev. Amos Howard conducting the funeral service. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Bruce Brashears Undertaking Co.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Alice Smith and Mrs. Venna Thompson of Metalton and Esther Stansell of the home, and by three sons, Sam and Jess of Marble and Douglas of Cowley, Wyo., also by 26 grandchildren, one sister and two brothers, Mrs. Ida Hall of California, S. T. King of Lequire, Okla., and Ben King of Texas. She had been a faithful Christian since early in life.

Vernon Thompson

Mrs. Venna Thompson, 84, of Springdale, died Feb. 28, 1987, at Meadowview Lodge in Huntsville. She was born June 10, 1902, at Whorton Creek, Ark.; the daughter of Oliver and Susan King Stansell. She was a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church and the widow of Vernon Thompson, who preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1954.

Survivors include two sons, Crawford Thompson and John Thompson, both of Springdale; six daughters, Mrs. Estelle Stamps and Mrs. Floye Butler, both of Springdale, Mrs. Goldie Nobles of Howe, Okla., Mrs. Ruth Griggs and Mrs. Dixie Elzey, both of Huntsville, and Mrs. Rose Dolph of Tulsa, Okla.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday, March 2, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Cecil Garrison officiating. Interment was in the Kingston Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home. Pallbearers were grandsons.
