My grandmother Gwen Stout Thompson told me that this photo was of her aunt Mabel in the 1920s. Apparently, Aunt Mabel the prim, proper little lady was a "Flapper" in her youth!

Her married name was Parsons.

My GreatAunt Mabel sent in this notice to the Madison County Record and apparently left my family out of the article. She was a sweet woman and was obviously worried we would be offended but we weren't. I doubt at the time we even really knew about the article except for her sending Mom and Dad this note!

Love Mabel

Due to an oversight on my part, I omitted a paragraph before I sent this to the Co. Record. It is as follows: One son of Crawford and Gwendolyn Thompson, James (Buster) Thompson, his wife Carolyn and their children Kelly, Tammy, and Michael all attended the birthday dinner I am very sorry about my mistake.

Sincerely,

Mabel
